“Articles and Waves” Art Show ART SHOW OPENING: “Articles & Waves”, August 21st-September 11th
Small scale paintings will dominate the show, and will address both the curvilinear shapeliness of waves, brightly imagined, and fastidiously executed, as well as the way articles (things) turn up in still life and landscape, with their own wavy, unpredictable grace. Look for work by Louise Belcourt, Carroll Dunham, Cotter Luppi, Susan Shatter, and Patricia Fabricant, together with new paintings by Ashley Prine, Doug Padgett, Susan Bee, Chris Zitelli and Sutton Hays. Also present will be work on paper by Satoru Enguchi, Don Doe, Dan Kopp and the team of Jocelyn Hobbie and Jonathan Seliger, as well as new hand painted etchings by Katia Santibanez. There will be a reception Saturday, August 21st, from 5:30-7:30 in conjunction with the town-wide, Great Barrington Art Walk. All are invited. The show runs through September 11. Gallery hours: Wednesday – Saturday, from 11 am to 5 pm. On Wednesday, August 25, from 5-7 pm, there will be a book party for “BERKSHIRE STORIES," by Morgan Bulkeley, Sr., the 90 year old naturalist and champion of the Housatonic River. Illustrations are by Morgan Bulkeley, Jr. On Friday, August 27, from 5:30-7:00, the New York poets Miles Champion and Bruce Andrews will read from new work. Readings are free. Refreshments served.
