The opening reception is Saturday, November 11, 5:30-7:30 pm. This crowded, messy show will attempt to give a wide range of answers to the question: In what ways does an artist synthesize, or better yet, summarize what is in a face, in the represention of a known person?

Each of these 28 artists presents a likeness of something, usually a human, but not always. What is identity? What is true? Can the summarizing hand of the artist capture something essential about the person? Along the way there will be some major surprises by both local and New York City artists.
