“Let The Players Play” Each of Tom Burckhardt’s eleven paintings includes the real name
of a musician who has adopted a stage name (McKinley Morganfield, who
goes by the name of Muddy Waters, or Innis McDaniel, who goes by the name
of Bo Diddly, for example), among other graphic/coloristic abstract delights;
Satoru Eguchi’s work includes a suite of fantastical drawings in
graphite and colored pencil which mixes animals, water, houses, and landscape
in imaginative concert, as well as a group of photos that have been mindfully
altered by an exacto knife; James Franklin will have a group of new paintings
with his exquisitely delicate brushstrokes in the service of cryptic narratives,
each sealed with a hard, shiny epoxy surface.
